A lot of us know what it is like to find out that a loved one has been diagnosed with breast cancer. It is devastating news… the helplessness, the disbelief, the pain. Nine years ago my aunt lost the battle to breast cancer, five years later another aunt was diagnosed with cancer and just a few months ago we lost a dear friend due to this dreadful disease.
October is breast cancer awareness month. It is a month to remember those affected with breast cancer as well as the importance of early detection. Self-examinations and annual mammograms are the best ways of detecting the disease early.
Did you know that breast cancer is the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women?
Pass on the message: Prevention is key in battling this disease. Do it for the ones you love…
Do it for the girls in your life…
