PHOTOGRAPHY: 2010 HIGHLIGHTS

2010 was so much fun, definitely a learning experience for us. We really enjoyed seeing the way our photography style evolved, from our first session till the last one. I know I said this before but it is worth repeating, we are truly blessed with the best clients ever! With out you guys we would not be able to do what we love, photographing amazing people. For that we thank you. We have learned a lot from each one of you, and we hope that this is the beginning of a friendship.  To be honest I don’t think we will ever stop learning. It is a forever ongoing process and we look forward to keep learning and perfecting our craft this year.

Thank you to all the fabulous people out there who followed our quest and cheered us on along the way. You hold a special place in our hearts :) And we look forward to sharing much more in 2011, but for now here are the highlights of the past year (or the past six months since we were out of the country for the first part of the year!) …

Drum rolls please…..

PHOTOGRAPHY: NEW SPLASH PAGE + THEME

Have you been to our website lately? I am so excited we finally published a new splash page. Peter worked so hard at making the design come to life. I’m really proud of him, especially because he had to put up with all my demanding requests.
I was like:
“Nope, that’s not how I had pictured it in my mind” “Can you tilt it more to the right?” “Ok never mind, what about to the left?” “Can we do squiggly writing?” “But I really wanted a Polaroid picture…” “What do you mean I can’t do that?” And the list went on and on, it was that awesome.

The goal was to create a very romantic feel to the page. It is inspired by one of my favorite movies of all times The Notebook (sorry didn’t read the book).  I think the page really showcases our work as well as our personality. The tags describe what we live by as well as what we strive for our image to reflect. The open book represents an initiation to write your own story and live by your rules, dare to dream.  The photos signify memories that will be treasured and forever embedded into our book. Are you rolling your eyes yet? What can I say, I love romance, cut me some slack.

We are currently working on our blog, so keep posted for the new design. If you haven’t seen our new splash page please do us a favor and take a look at it. I want to know you think about it, do you like it? Do you hate it? Is it cheesy? Leave a comment to let me know, we really appreciate the feedback.

Happy Friday

PERSONAL: YES OR NO ANSWERS

Please don’t ask, I silently begged Peter hoping he would hear my desperate request. Of course he just had to ask the dreaded question, what happened?

With that, my dad went into story telling mode. You see, he can’t give you a straight answer. No matter how simple the question is he will give you a complete well rounded answer and sometimes you end up more confused and with more questions than you started with. Except now you fear asking because he will talk for another half an hour before he even begins answering the question.

You would think Peter would know all this by now. Yet he still fell for it. So we ended up listening to a story that included a couple of years of history along with an animated narration. Yes, it is quite entertaining, yet sometimes I just wish he could give a yes or no answer.

PHOTOGRAPHY: 2010 IN REVIEW

Peter and I have a little contest going on, the goal is to take the worst pictures of each other during a photo shoot. Then we look at the behind the scenes pictures we snapped and laugh at each other. I find the whole thing rather amusing and I wanted to share some of them so you too can have a good laugh.

Here I am talking to my camera

...wondering what to do next...

...pushing over a tree...

You can rest assured Peter will do anything to get the best angles, including but not limited to the following...
He is so committed to capturing the moment he doesn't waste time setting his tripod down or putting his flash on his camera...

Peter says we look like we are trying to figure out how to work our cameras.
